Promoting Menstrual Health Education for Young Girls
Menstrual Health and Hygiene: Empowering Ghanaian Girls to Stay in School
Did you know that many young girls in Ghana face challenges managing their menstrual health due to cultural taboos and limited access to hygiene products? Tanga Initiatives is addressing this issue through education and resources to help girls stay in school and live healthier lives.
Empowering Girls Through Education:
Our menstrual health and hygiene project focuses on educating young girls in rural areas about managing their menstrual flow. Currently, the project is implemented in 10 basic schools across the Upper East Region.
Providing Resources:
We are distributing sanitary pads to young girls to ensure that menstruation does not hinder their education. By breaking cultural taboos, we’re fostering an environment where girls can feel confident and included.
Key Achievements:
-
- Reached over 500 young girls with educational workshops.
-
- Distributed hundreds of sanitary pads to girls in need.
