Women in Vegetable Farming: Building Resilience Through Agriculture
Farming is more than just a livelihood—it’s a pathway to empowerment. Tanga Initiatives is equipping women in rural communities with the skills, resources, and opportunities they need to achieve financial independence through sustainable agriculture.
A Growing Initiative:
Since March 2024, our Women in Vegetable Farming project has supported 50 women from 50 households with seeds, agricultural inputs, and training to cultivate crops like tomatoes, onions, and okra. These women are also receiving Agricultural Extension Services to boost productivity and income.
Promoting Food Security:
By empowering women in vegetable farming, we are not only increasing household income but also ensuring food security for families. The project will run until 2026, with plans to expand to more communities.
Key Achievements:
- Supported 50 women with farming resources and training.
- Improved household food security and financial independence.
